NATUREZA MORTA DE ABORRECIMENTO X YSL
A capsule collection campaign with a touch of satire and Mediterranean drama: a still life of boredom.
Inspired by modernist painters and the atmosphere of Iberian vintage drama, the visuals merge the classical concept of still life with a poetic meditation on existential inertia.
Fruit bowls, theatrical gestures, and baroque interiors echo tradition — yet the figures remain suspended, caught between gesture and lethargy, devotion and ennui.
Boredom here is not emptiness, but an aesthetic state.
When no direct action pulls you into reaction, contemplation itself becomes the performance.
In the absence of constant stimulation, the body folds into waiting — and the waiting becomes the image.
Can you seize that suspended moment, or does it inevitably slip into restlessness?
In Portuguese, still life is “natureza morta” — literally “dead nature.”
Through this lens, boredom transforms into drama, inertia into style.
The irony deepens when paired with aborrecimento(boredom): natureza morta de aborrecimento, naturaleza muerta de aburrimiento, nature morte d’ennui.
A multilingual litany of dead time.
A satire that dresses absence in couture, turning the void into luxury, and ennui into ornament.
